FedScoop 50 Awards

One of the best things about my job is to highlight the terrific work on data going on around our Department.  Now, more experts are recognizing the work of our Commerce Data Service.

Department of Commerce’s Earns Three FedScoop 50 Awards for 2016

Just this week, three of our products won significant recognition at the prestigious 2016 FedScoop Awards:

Chief Data Scientist Jeff Chen (for Federal Leadership), The Commerce Data Academy (for Tech Program of the Year), and The Commerce Data Usability Project (for Innovation of the Year).

Jeff Chen - 2016 FedScoop award winner for Federal Leadership & Innovation of the Year (CDUP) Star Ying – 2016 FedScoop award winner for Innovation of the Year (CDUP) Natassja Linzau – 2016 FedScoop winner for Tech Program of the Year (CDA)

Congrats to Jeff, Star Ying and his CDUP team, and Natassja Linzau and her Data Academy team.

This is terrific recognition of our work and Secretary Pritzker’s leadership on the Data Front.  The FedScoop awards honor the federal and industry leaders who have harnessed the power of technology to make significant contributions to the nation and government IT community in the last year.

“Each year, the FedScoop 50 Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the top leaders in the federal IT community,” said Goldy Kamali, FedScoop founder and CEO. “FedScoop 50 is a wonderful opportunity to extend recognition to the leaders that have paved the way in cybersecurity, technology advances and accelerating the IT modernization of government.”

FedScoop says it received more than 340,000 votes in the span of a month, narrowing down the top 50 leaders from the more than 1,000 who were nominated in nine categories.

I know our team never rests on its laurels.  That’s a big reason why we keep getting laurels.

Join me in sending congrats to Jeff, Star, Natassja and their teams.

Thanks for reading.
